Mariamman Hindu Temple, Saigon.
Just a quick post today, as it’s been a while, and while I’ve got some pretty juicy posts in the works, I thought I’d better share something in the meantime.
This is my favourite photo from a recent visit to the Mariamman Hindu Temple, right near Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City. I haven’t looked into the details of the place yet, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out, as it’s completely unlike anything else you’ll see in Saigon (well, apart from the other one or two Hindu temples…).
Here, a devotee is praying to the god housed in a stone shrine after having burned incense and made food offerings.
